Hi, I’m Greg

I believe relationships are life’s greatest gift—and we honor all the people who have given us opportunities by paying forward their generosity through service. My chief purpose and joy in life is my family—as a girl dad, husband, fun uncle, brother, son, and my ancestors’ heartbeats living on.

Social Impact

For me, service is about creating impact at the intersection of different sectors, industries, and disciplines. I strengthen alignment and drive results among teams contributing towards shared goals through strategy, partnerships, and coaching.

In my current role as the Director of Sales Engineering at UpMetrics, I work with prospective partners at the intersection of their strategic, technical, and operational needs to develop impact measurement and management solutions for them.

I also advise collegiate student-athletes on using their powerful platform to create positive impact for the causes and communities that matter to them.

Prior to UpMetrics, I built expertise in bridging the philanthropic, nonprofit, business, and government sectors at the Clinton Global Initiative. I have excelled at blending disciplines ranging from play-based learning to social entrepreneurship at USC Athletics, Play At The Core, Right To Play, and Give Running. And I advise the startup Tiny Docs that is connecting the healthcare, early childhood education, and media industries.

Education

I have 15 years of experience leading various community-based and data-driven initiatives, with travel across North America, Africa, and Southeast Asia. I earned my MBA with honors from the USC Marshall School of Business. Prior to that, I graduated summa cum laude from USC with a BA in History and double minor in Entrepreneurship and Painting, among other honors such as being selected as a Rhodes Scholar Finalist and receiving the Pac-12 Leadership Award.

Running

A competitive distance runner since age seven, I walked on the USC Men’s Track & Field Team for four years. I was elected Distance Team Captain as a senior and then served as the team’s Assistant Distance Coach the following season. I continue to train and race, including finishing the 2018 Boston Marathon in historically brutal weather. My PR for the 5K is 15:49, my PR for 10 miles is 58:31, my PR for the Half Marathon is 1:19:32, and my PR for the Marathon is 2:52:11.

Writing

I created the Palette of Success out of years of journaling about my personal values, meaningful moments throughout my life, and wisdom I want to share. More to come! I occasionally write poetry for fun. I’m also currently working on my first screenplay—a romantic comedy inspired in part by my experiences living in New York City, taking improv classes, and falling in love with my wife Jess.

Art

The metaphor of the painter’s palette comes from my time in the studio. Here is a gallery of my work.
