Hi, I’m Greg

I believe relationships are life’s greatest gift—and we honor those who have supported us by paying forward their generosity through service to others. My chief purpose and joy is my family, and I cherish being in this season with two young kids and married to the love of my life.

Social Impact

The throughline of my 15+ years leading social impact programs and strategic partnerships is turning compelling visions into meaningful results with an interdisciplinary, solutions-oriented, and relationships-focused approach.

As an early employee and now a director at UpMetrics, I help mission-driven organizations measure, communicate, and grow their impact through innovative technology and community. In my current role, I combine deep industry knowledge, technical expertise in impact reporting, and dynamic facilitation skills to both pilot engagements with new potential partners and deliver actionable learning experiences for our current clients.

Prior to UpMetrics, I led the U.S. early childhood development portfolio at the Clinton Global Initiative and launched a program at Right To Play working with early childhood leaders in support of New York City’s universal Pre-K rollout.

I also founded the nonprofit organization Give Running—bringing together and building up young people, Olympians, and community partners across six continents. In this vein, I mentor student-athletes on using their powerful platforms to create change for the causes and communities that matter to them.

Education

A “Double Trojan,” I earned both my BA and MBA with honors from the University of Southern California, among other distinctions such as being selected as a Rhodes Scholar Finalist and receiving the Pac-12 Leadership Award.

Running

A competitive distance runner since age seven, I walked on the USC Men’s Track & Field Team for four years. I was elected distance team captain as a senior and then served as the team’s assistant distance coach. I continue to train and race, including finishing the 2018 Boston Marathon in historically brutal weather. My PR for the 5K is 15:49, my PR for 10 miles is 58:31, my PR for the half marathon is 1:19:32, and my PR for the marathon is 2:52:11.

These days my runs often include bringing the kids with me in our double stroller. In this season of life, what I most value about running is the time spent moving my body; stilling my mind; and savoring the beauty of being in nature and being with loved ones.

Writing & Art

I enjoy journaling about my personal values, meaningful moments throughout my life, and wisdom I want to share. I occasionally write poetry for fun as well. More to come!

While I don’t weild my paintbrush as often as I used to, I believe there will be another season that affords more time for rekindling my painting practice. Here is a gallery of my artwork.
